Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about the network before applying.
Do I pay anything to join the network?
No. Joining the network is entirely free. There is no membership fee or monthly dues. The network lives on the projects it contracts with clients, not on dues paid by consultants.
I'm a recent graduate. Is there a place for me?
Yes. Through the Development Programme, fully funded by AGH. You receive intensive training at the Academy, support from senior consultants, mentoring and progressive participation in projects, until you meet the requirements to deliver network contracts on your own.
Can I apply for more than one specialty area?
Yes. You can join the network in every area where you demonstrate the appropriate skills and experience.
Does the network take a percentage of my work?
No. You receive the agreed fees in full. The network charges no commissions, fees or retentions on your compensation; only legally due taxes and withholdings to the State apply. AGH's fee is agreed directly with the end client and is never taken from the consultant's fees.
How and when do I get paid?
You are paid on the timeline defined in each project's contract. Fees are agreed in writing before work starts and paid by AGH. Commercial and collection risk with the end client is fully taken on by AGH.
Who sets the fees?
Fees are agreed between AGH and the consultant before award and formalised in writing. You only accept a project if you agree with the proposed terms.
Can I decline a project?
Yes. You receive an invitation with defined scope, schedule and fees. You accept only the projects that make sense for your availability and area.
Do I have to find clients?
No. Business development, negotiation, contracting, invoicing and collection are handled by AGH. Your focus is delivering excellent technical work.
How are consultants chosen for each project?
Selection takes into account specialty, experience, certifications, availability and fit with the client and the project.
What if there is a scheduling conflict?
Whenever possible, the schedule is agreed jointly. If you are not available, you can decline the project with no penalty.
Do I lose my independence or my current clients?
No. You remain fully independent. Your clients, your practice and your brand remain exclusively yours. There is no exclusivity obligation or minimum volumes. Within network projects, only a simple commercial loyalty rule applies, set out in the Collaboration Agreement.
Can I work for other companies?
Yes. Joining the network does not imply exclusivity. Only consultants who voluntarily choose Effective Member status work exclusively with Export Lab.
Who owns the network's clients?
Clients brought in by AGH belong to the network and are managed by AGH under the contracts signed. The consultant's own clients remain entirely theirs. This separation is clear and set out in the Collaboration Agreement.
What is the Project Collaboration and Non-Circumvention Agreement?
It is the agreement that sets out the rules of collaboration between AGH and the consultant before the first project. It defines responsibilities, confidentiality, working conditions and commercial loyalty rules, protecting the consultant, the network and the client.
What does Effective Member status give me?
Effective Member status is optional and is aimed at consultants who choose to work exclusively with Export Lab. It includes:
- priority in project allocation;
- permanent access to the Zenith Towers facilities;
- use of the coworking, meeting rooms, training room and podcast and video studio;
- a high-level professional base, at a cost significantly lower than an equivalent infrastructure in Luanda.
The terms are presented individually to interested consultants.
